Calligraphy is an ancient and elegantly refined art form. It’s calming practice makes for the perfect new hobby or art therapy form. In-person classes by AK Art & Calligraphy are the perfect way to learn how to become a calligraphy artist. There are seven types of calligraphy scripts in Arabic calligraphy, four of which are essential knowledge. The classes will start with the first and easiest one of the four. Each script will have a one-month course where we will cover the fundamentals and compositions. In total, four months of courses for the four main scripts will provide you with extensive knowledge and experience with beginner Arabic calligraphy. After these, you will be prepared to continue on to the intermediate and advanced levels of the last three of the seven scripts. As your calligraphy guide, Arman will begin the calligraphy lessons with how to hold a calligraphy pen and basic calligraphy strokes, including the alphabet. Then, he will move on to teaching words and phrases. With each class, you will make calligraphy cards to take home as your own work of art.
